AkyemOverview The Akyem project comprises a group of licences in the northern part of the Ashanti belt. One of these (Tawia) straddles the belt margin, along strike (14km) from Newmont's Akyem project. The others cover ground within the belt in an area where a number of major structures veer to the north and complex, major faulting juxtaposes Birimian volcanics and Tarkwaian sediments. |
